No Surprises: Understanding All-In Vehicle Pricing In Ontario

We’ve all been there: you’re scrolling through car listings in Scarborough, you find a Nissan Kicks or Rogue at a price that seems too good to pass up. Suddenly, when you get to the dealership, the price grows. A "doc fee" here, a "security package" there, and before you know it, you’re looking at a completely different number.

At Morningside Nissan, we think that’s a terrible way to start a relationship.

In 2026, Ontario car buyers are more wary of hidden fees than ever before. That’s why we’ve built our business on an honest, all-in price philosophy. When you shop with us, the price you see is the price you pay—period.

What Exactly is OMVIC All-In Pricing?

In Ontario, the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC) regulates how we advertise. The law is simple: when we advertise the price for a vehicle, that price must include every single fee we intend to charge, except for HST and licensing.

We don’t just follow this law because we have to; we do it because we value your time.

Our advertised "All-In Price" includes:

  • Freight and PDI: The cost to ship the vehicle and perform the Pre-Delivery Inspection.
  • Administration Fees: All the paperwork and processing costs.
  • Air Conditioning Tax: The mandatory $100 federal levy.
  • Tire Stewardship Fees: The Ontario environmental levies for tires.
  • Installed Accessories: If the car on our lot has mudguards or wheel locks already on it, those are already in the price you see online.

The Only Extras: The only things we add to our advertised price are HST (13%) and the licensing fee (the actual cost of your plates and registration with the Ministry of Transportation).

Why Our "Out-The-Door" Price Builds Trust

We know that for many of our neighbours in the East GTA, buying a car is the second-largest purchase you’ll ever make. You deserve a transparent car-buying process.

When we talk about the "out-the-door price," we mean the final bottom line. By being upfront, we eliminate the stress of the "finance office surprise." This allows you to focus on what actually matters: whether the car fits your lifestyle, how it handles on the 401, and if the monthly payments truly fit your budget.

Our Promise To You

Our reputation in Scarborough is built on more than just great cars; it’s built on integrity. We want you to feel so confident in your deal that you’ll send your friends and family to see us.

  • No Haggle over Fees: We’ve already included them.
  • OMVIC Compliant: We hold ourselves to the highest regulatory standards.
  • Simple Paperwork: We walk you through every line of the bill of sale so you know exactly where every dollar is going.
